Archie Hunter

The Reverend Archie Hunter is a retired Anglican priest and a founding member of Acorn Canada, having trained as a Christian Listener at Whitehill Chase, the Acorn Training Centre in Hampshire, England. He has been a tutor on all but one of the listening courses help by Acorn Canada, including the week long residential “Called to Listen” course in May 2005.

Fr Archie was ordained in 1978 and served five parishes in the Diocese of Ottawa until his retirement in 2002. At present he is the honorary assistant at St Matthew’s Church, Ottawa and Diocesan Representative to the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer. He has been active in the Cursillo Movement, sat on the board of Anglican Renewal Ministries for some years, including 5 as National Chairman, and was instrumental in introducing the Alpha programme to Ottawa. Fr Archie’s particular interests are church growth and renewal. He has been active in the ministry of Christian Healing for over thirty years and believes the ability to listen well is essential for anyone, lay or ordained, who is engaged in ministering to others.
